In the period 1900-1949 only eleven horses died in the Grand National.
In the last ten years, since “safer” fences were introduced, a further eleven horses have died.

While sales of both Mini cars and Mini I-Pads continue to forge ahead,
that seemingly-modern word “mini” is in fact from the Old Norse word “minni” meaning, perhaps not surprisingly, “small”.
